Sandbox Mode?
CG stated that the number of players who want a sandbox mode is relatively small. So I wanted to ask everyone, do you want a sandbox mode? Do your guildmates want it? If you are against having a sandb...

I believe they actually said they believed, based on data from replayable events, that the number of people that would actually use it would be small, not the number of players who want it.
They know there’s a large number who want it or think they want it.
Anyway, continue on, just pointing out the distinction from your post.
Just to be clear, judging a sandbox mode based on repayable events is insane. Yeah, players would get bored very fast if all they could fight is a group of Stormtroopers over and over until the end of time. No one cares about fighting a bunch of weak units, much less units that we don’t have access to. They want to fight actual teams.
And as it was pointed out by a few YouTubers, it was also hypocritical. On one hand, CG says they don’t want to do a sandbox mode because not enough people would use it. On the other hand, they claim the reason their art looks so bad is because they’re trying to make sure a fraction of a percent of Android and iOS players can play the game.
The reason that doesn’t make sense is because they’re just excuses after the fact to cover up the truth. CG created strawman for the sandbox mode because the reality is they don’t want to do anything unless it can be directly monetized. That’s the reason they won’t do a sandbox mode. Period. And making the effort to get their art anywhere close to their competitors would cost time and money that they wouldn’t directly be able to profit off of.
Your first paragraph is spot on. However the monetization argument doesn't work because there are plenty of ways to monetize it. It leads me to believe that the issue is that they don't think we'll pay what they would want to charge (and they're probably right).
If they did give us something along the lines of a sandbox mode that was reasonably affordable for the average (mostly) FTP player, I think they worry we would actually use and enjoy it too much, cutting into play time/profit in other game modes.
