You’re forgetting, they said TWO Pirate teams. We usually get 30 characters available for the raid with only 25 able to actually be used. My money is on the leftover five being existing Jedi Vanguard that you can swap in if you don’t get Mace or Jocasta. But those five on their own will likely accomplish nothing, meaning you need both Pirate squads for a full five teams.
These would be the three existing characters they name dropped, plus SM-33 from Conquest, and 6 shiny brand new Marquees that will come out AFTER the raid launches (assuming they don’t delay it).

we currently have 3 Pirates + 5 marques needed for legnedary +sm33 would make it 2 teams it's still idiotic and make no sense lore wise. it's difficult enough for me to get my guild to work on the raid doing this only makes it worse

Where did you get the new information about the raid?

In fairness, this is nowhere near as bad as MSF. Yet.
At least CG don't expect you to remortgage your house 8 times to unlock one toon...
But breaking down the numbers - subject to change, of course, based on the final list of raid eligible toons when it drops - we have most of Vanguard already in the game, and a lot of them overlap with Battle for Naboo eligible toons. The only ones not in the game yet are the new marquees and Mace, and Jocasta depending on how much you played conquest. So a fair number of players will likely be able to field at least a subpar version of Vanguard, which may lead to cheese teams similar to the Luminara+Kit team in BfN.
Difficulty to build: high if you want the optimal team, low to medium if you want a quick and dirty team to toss at the raid.
DS Clones - fair enough, they're only barely going to be in the game by the time the raid launches. But the new marquee system has been pretty good for getting them built and farmed - one 5 card draw per clone has me sitting at 5/6 stars on each of them, strongly recommend saving up 6k crystals between each of them. Tarkin is free, and the new omi he gets isn't actually locking their raid viability behind it.
Difficulty to build: medium, depending on whether you drop crystals on them during their marquee events.
Fish Oil (New Bad Batch, they're full of Omega) - again, varies depending on whether you spent crystals during their marquee events, but by this point all of them except Crosshair are farmable, and he'll be farmable soon - I believe either this Tuesday or next Tuesday he should be moving to a node farm. Only one I don't have finished is Huntah, because my cantina energy goes to relics. Seriously glad CG only put one member of each new team on a cantina node, that energy is needed for signal data.
Difficulty to build: medium if you didn't spend crystals during their marquees, low if you did.
Pirates - okay yeah, I'm with you fully on this one. Pulling the wool over our eyes and the rug out from under our feet. Very appropriate for a pirate faction to swoop in at he last second and plunder the spoils. This one depends entirely on how many of the in-game pirates are eligible for the raid, and it's the toughest to determine the difficulty as a result.
Difficulty to build: high regardless, Smee's conquest feats are a return to the bad old days of super grindy BS, there's only 4 in game currently including Smee, and the faction won't even be released fully by the time the raid launches. - atialishoma2 months agoNew Adventurer
The way cg go about raids is just making the game feel more like a job than a game. If I had to stop playing for a few months, the raid would make it impossible to come back as I'd have nothing you need so couldn't get the rewards you need to play the game. They're seemingly trying to get us to just quit. At a time where alot of people are quitting it's just a really mad way to run the game. Why would you come back? Can't we go back to choosing the raid we want to play?

The cowards are hiding it in the SM33 kit reveal post, which they also "bravely" made a new post instead of the usual forum post to try and silence people.

Simple solution would be if people refused to buy the new pirates on release but the problem is this community is weak in the sense that the whales will do it regardless
- DUNCAN19192 months agoSeasoned Veteran
Those "weak" people keep the game f2p for everyone else.
Even then as a f2p end game player I'll inevitably get them quite comfortably a couple 2-3 months behind the whales. You're clearly at a lower level if you think these things require only spending to obtain quickly.

It was on the kit reveal which they posted off the forums. https://www.ea.com/games/starwars/galaxy-of-heroes/news/kit-reveal-sm-33

More teams to attack in a raid is a better thing. If it's not required, so what?
