Hopefully they are true to their word and address gear after they observe the effects of this. I would rather wait a reasonable amount of time (a few weeks, not several months) for a better fix rather than the easy ones suggested that will cause as many complaints as they fix.

I have zero confidence that they are true to their word. They have been hardcore about nerfing bronziums since they removed them from marquee events. They doubled the amount of pulls at them that we get per day and seem to be having buyers remorse that they did so. Did they identify this as a source of stun guns that they wish to choke further?

Very likely.
Note the wording "does not include Bronzium Data Cards due to a technical issue. We will explore increasing this rate in a future update".
They aren't even promising to fix the "issue".
