There are 4 capital ships and 28 pilot ships. This update is being pushed later today right? And you're not going to give us ANY info on what abilities are being changed ahead of time? Madness. You want us to learn 32 entirely reworked ships including the introduction of an entirely new mechanic when you release them?
You know what I loved? I loved when LSTB was first introduced. You wrote out a bunch of stuff, you did a dev interview/walkthrough with the GC's and the GC's had video (not all the info, a lot of their first videos were still making guesses about how things worked) on the content. TW's release was similar. STR was similar though you left phase 4 entirely a mystery (which I enjoyed). But this... 32 ships, all new abilities, a whole new mechanic and you have absolutely nothing for us.
It's too late for panic farming. You're making huge changes to a game mode many didn't enjoy to begin with ( I personally love ships hence my frustration). And you have nothing for us? That's super disappointing. Even more frustrating is you're not talking about when or how we'll learn about the changes. coolcoolcool
They've done multiple videos on the new mechanics. Just read the new abilities and think about them when the update drops. It's not that big a deal.
Um, no they haven't. They did one video and everything about it was subject to change. They haven't posted the new abilities anywhere for us to read/ponder as you suggest. Move along, move along.
3 v 3, New reinforcement abilities, New mechanics, etc. Everything coming that hasn't previously been covered in one of three different videos will be changes to abilities.
You can easily read them all in-game when the update drops. They don't need to release a D&D style catalog beforehand so you can read all of them. Relax
You do, of course realize, that when they release a new character or two, they have almost always (at least recently) previewed their abilities and functionality in great detail - several days in advance - with a character strategy guide, right?
You also realize, that this is not a change to 1 or 2 characters, but a complete overhaul of 30+ ships and all of their synergies and abilities as well as a brand new ability (reinforcement) and how it will integrate with and effect the battle.
You can downplay the complete lack of communication prior to the event dropping if you want, but Mauddib expecting at least some helpful information so he doesn't haven't to read through a "D&D style catalog" on 30+ ships as soon as the event drops is not nearly as ridiculous as you seem to be implying.
I realize all that. And it's why I think his expectation is silly.
That kind of detail expanded to 28 ships at once is too much info to be useful. Not to mention, they do that with the marquee characters to hype them up, get people excited, and encourage them to buy them. No need here.
Also, there has been plenty of communication from the videos on mechanics. The fact that you even know abilities are changing proves false your claim of a "complete lack" of info.
We've got the important stuff. What he wants would be very long and no one except a few stat gluttons would read all of it - just like a D&D manual.
I truly don't understand your argument at all. You seem to just not like me (fine - i'm not for everyone) and want to poo-poo any complaint/issue/venting I have (also fine-you're right, I do tend to do that to TVF because we disagree often, but I have agreed with him as well, supported his comments and liked them - word of advice: don't insert yourself into other peoples arguments). But this argument that we don't need any sort of guide is just ridiculous. This whole game is predicated on a deep understanding of complicated mechanics, many of which cancel each other out. A guide would not be useful? I dunno man, seems kind of useful to me. Think about it, if you've been here from the beginning (like Nikoms - I'm a couple of months behind) you've had 2+ years to get used to the way the game worked, the mechanics, the content. A year with ships. Each new toon release, marquee legendary or otherwise, has had a very detailed breakdown of their abilities and basic strategy released in advance of their release. In a way, it's CG marketing - look at this new widget! It's better than all the other widgets because... reasons!
But they're not doing that here. And it's not 1 or 2 new toons, it's 32 all at once that we don't have an opportunity to research before it actually launches. The important stuff is the details of how the ships work - how their abilities are being adjusted, how this new reinforcement ability is going to work, not that it's going to start 3v3 now. If that was the only change... easy. We're good. No questions, lets just see how the thing runs. Look at all 148 toons and 32 ships abilities and tell me its NOT already a D&D manual. But fine, I'm a glutton for D&D style punishment I guess. The devil is in the details. Hit me with them.
You do seem like a snob just the way you write (being rude and condescending while wrongly criticizing others of doing that) but I assume you're just a kid and don't know better. I don't dislike people I don't know when my only interaction with them is a couple forum posts. My argument was we don't need a D&D length guide on how ships work that no one except you and a few others might read. You complain about the length of a video but want to really long manual to read. We can figure it out once it's released, we don't need everything handed to us. And we don't need CG wasting a massive amount of time writing all that info and a guy explaining everything. They told us the mechanics, let's not act like we can't figure it out after that.
I just don't like everything handed to me, I like having to figure stuff out for myself, and you don't. That's probably why you don't understand the argument, it's not personal.
Posting what’s included in a content update is pretty much SOP in video games these days.
They did. They posted everything important, not everything that there was
