Ships 2.0 first conclusions

I'm not gonna make another poll for it. I think we had just enough to state that almost everyone dislikes this new update. Everyone except the ones who can afford to throw a couple thousand bucks in to adapt. With this I don't mean the usual "the game is pay to win" (even if it would be the case), I'm just saying that you used to call for cash and favor shoppers in more subtle ways than messing up a whole part of the game. Fix it for the sake of God.
  • Funny - I just checked my bank account and strangely CG got 0 dollars from me since 2.0 rollout.

And yet I'm still taking 1st in fleet, just like I did prior to 2.0.

That's wierd, since you said it takes thousands of dollars to adapt.

January this year. The ships "meta" hasn't really shifted much post 2.0 - the same ships are being used now that were used prior. That may change in time, as people figure out more effective combos. But really it should be a relatively painless transition if someone was already chasing (or using) the meta.

So you're in a young shard. I don't know if you're experiencing what we between 2 and 3 millions gp (playing since like January 2017) are experiencing. From 50 to 1 everyone has the same lineup (and the same first reinforcement) and you're basically having the same battle over and over again, depending on whether your tie dodges or on whose chimaera is faster. Do you know what happened to the top of our arena shard? Completely turned upside down. Everyone in my shard chat was buried under 30-40 (while we previously occupied the slots going from 1 to 20) and guess who went on the top? Shoppers. Almost only shoppers. Why? Because they instantly threw a fat hundred or two into geonosians and/or new ships materials, gaining the usual advantage they gain when the devs build a paywall. Only this time it is not a single character, it is a whole part of the game.

Not that I doubt you (being in a younger shard and under 1m GP myself), but you would be the first person I've heard saying that all the mature shards are running to geonosians. All I hear is that it's the same stale Biggs/Vader/TFP/Slave 1 meta as before, across the board.

If Geonosians are truly rising in power, I'd expect to be hearing more about it (and see it starting to happen too, since they're not exactly hard farms).

That's basically just saying the update is actually good, but everyone just hate farming.
While i do think this is the case for many complainers, i don't think it's entirely accurate or does the dislikers justice. Also darn sure not a reason for ea/cg to change anything.
There are some valid and legitimate concerns about the update aswell.

Oh no I'm not saying that everyone turned to geonosians. It was an "and/or". Someone actually did, but most people run vader tie biggs + slave like everyone else. The shoppers thing is a variable we all know well, it is in every new thing they release. It is not the main concern about this update.

Yes. I didn't want to pull in the dudes which made an accurate and deep technical and strategic analisys and I didn't want to simply repeat it, I thought everyone read that, that's why I said that we have enough to state that almost everyone dislikes the update. The update is good in nature, because a drastic shake is what ships needed, but not like this. This is an attempt to shake everything and squeeze out all the possible profit from it at the same time, resulting in a major mess and in absolutely zero customer care.
  • if people dislike it for different reasons, they probably want different sollutions.
i think disliking it because you have to farm different ships doesn't warrant an adjustment, and ea/cg sure as sith don't care about the players disliking that either.
It's as good of a reason as any to not like the update nontheless.
