Should i leav 88 at 5 star or take him to 7?

Take him to 7* first, then farm Nebit. He is good with droids. But you really only need Jawa Engineer from Guild Store for droids, in fact he is totally necessary.

88 is in most if not all droid builds... You would not be wasting resources leveling him some more.

He's also a scoundrel and a bounty hunter (faction wise).

Max him. Put crit damage and crit chance mods on him. Run a squad of hk47(L), ig88, jawa engineer, ig86, chief nebit. Long farm, but it's worth it

Take him to 7*, gear him with Crit Damage and 2 potency mods, run him with Fett lead that is geared with Potency. You increase his health by 60% or more to get rid of his squishiness, get speed bonus for debuffs, and a 50% crit damage bonus....He is on my arena team (Feet (L), 88, QGJ, Wiggs). Finish top 3 everyday day.

Definitely level him up. Works well with so many teams as others have already mentioned.

i would farm nebit (5* is enough) first, then return to farming IG-88. Imo it's best to start farming 5* crit dmg mods as soon as possible.
Credit heist is more important though, i personally didnt need 88 to clear the last tier, but i guess that depends on the rest of your roster. If 88 is key for your credit heist team, you should just ignore my advice on farming nebit first ;)

88 All The Way!

Most flexible droid there is. Scoundrels synergy, Droid synergy, Bounty Hunter synergy. Hits like a ton of bricks. What's not to love about 88?
