Simply put, this is unethical. The price tag they associate with these things are accessible to two types of people: 1) "gamechangers" who see income off the game and thus can write a $300 toon spend off as a business expense or 2) addicts. Simply put, these are predatory business practices.
Ok - hold on a sec...how the hell are these practices “predatory” - can we actually debate this issue like adults for a change?
Most people playing this game are 18+ - we make choices like everything in life.
I am probably a bit of a whale but how does that make me an addict?
My friends spend spend 6 bucks for a Starbucks coffee full of sugar (daily) - 12 bucks on a Burger meal full of cholesterol every other day - 8 bucks for a shot of JD & Coke when they go clubbing every other week lets say? And maybe 35 bucks for a steak and chips twice a week?
But the minute a SW fan spends $$ on a game which gives heaps of enjoyment we are “addicts”???
I really don’t get people complaining....I mean F2P get a great run on swgoh - everything becomes farmable at some stage - pretty much all content is accessible after a few months so why the complaining?
I mean if you cant wait maybe 5 or so months to when Malak might possibly become more attainable - then maybe its you with the “addiction” problem? Something to think about perhaps?
Peace.
