Yeah, but the thing that you're not getting is that you don't HAVE to whale out all the time. It's okay to let a character go by and get them the next time. It's not the end of the game, let alone the end of the world.

They're not disrespecting you. They don't even know who you are. They're giving us the thing we asked for--Malak, fewer marquees, reasons to use characters we don't use, etc--but getting what you want usually comes with the unexpected result of realizing you didn't actually want it.

That's what some people are getting wrong. Once you start whaling out, you actually HAVE to spend more and more, every time you have to. Why? Because if you don't, all the money you have spent earlier will be useless. This is the classic casino way EA has gotten us used to. They got yelled at when they pulled the rope too much on big games like Battlefront, so they got **** and they're getting extremely predatory on lesser means, like this game.

Just because you have spent money in the past does not mean you have to spend more money to protect that lost investment. No matter how much money you put in this game, the only return you get is the ability to rank higher in the Squad Arena. You know you will never see a profit. I believe this is almost (but not quite) what they call the Sunk Cost Fallacy.
Money spent in this game is a recreational expense, it is not an investment.

Well, sure, I know that. In fact, I've never spent a single penny on this game. I have a quite different idea of "recreational". But you know, some people don't get it that way and they might get a little bit upset to see their previous "recreational expenses" being rendered useless after a couple months. Of course, recreational expenses are meant to be this way: technically pointless, obviously not profitable and so on. But you perfectly know that some people don't get it this way and they're simply pooping on the face of these people, sqeezing out of them every tiny bit of "recreational expenses" they can (or sadly cannot, but still spend) afford. That's shady and disrespectful to say the least.
