I found R2 to be dead weight and added pilot for more damage, and it works.

How do manage to survive without a healer ? I have basically the same team available but Nihilus would kill my toons early since protection is useless.

Their basic health steal is enough to bring them back up. Try to have scavenger take the annihilation because she can heal up the fastest.
