Solution to gear crunch:
How about a gear event? Throw it in periodically with dif squad requirements. Higher tiers are more difficult, but give more gear salvage, with a chance to get occasional full pieces. Doesn't even hav...

Ah. So your actual complaint is that you don't want to spend anymore because the gear you require outstrips the amount you want to spend. If that's the case, either uninstall the game, or open the wallet wider.
But you don't want to quit because you feel as though you've already invested in the game. It's the model EA has setup to get spenders to continuously spend."Scruffy_Looking;884490" wrote:"Mvnson;884389" wrote:

OK, I can totally buy that developers like CapGasp—who designs events, and events only—does not know where the bottlenecks are. But they have claimed they have a game economist who analyzes all the data they have available, and it's a decent bet that they are aware of the issue but think the current system is best for their bottom line. I agree that some of the gear shortages are pretty ridiculous, but its in their interests for players to always feel blocked by some/many things, and to always have reasons to believe they can spend their way to the next level."Neo2551;884437" wrote:
More than 94% of participants thought there was a gear crunch. Maybe he estimated proportion is inflated, but with 305 participants, the sampling size is big enough to safely state a non negligible promotion of players are unsatisfied with the situation.
It's not the size of the sample that's problematic, but the fact that it's not random. It's like a phone-in poll for viewers of Bill O'Reilly or Rachel Maddow: those participating are likely to have biases that affect the results.
When I started this game, I honestly believed that there was a well designed "master plan". That the characters and gear delopmemt were mapped out from the start and that the developers knew exactly what they were doing. When you play a console or PC game like Bioshock or Diablo you can tell that progression has been fine tuned and these developers are top notch.
Then, after several months of this game, all these little clues start showing up and anyone that's paying attention should clearly recognize that the devs don't have a plan and are "winging it".
First of all,the "dev team" is guaranteed to be a lot smaller than you think it is and lack of communication or involvement is ****. The game Hearthstone but Blizzard was developed by "team 5".... because there were five of them. How can Capgasp design good events if he doesn't even understand the game? Well, the events really haven't been good. They've been plagued with difficulty and scale issue from the very start. Remember the first Yoda? Remember when they accidently made daily challenges unbeatable? Every end game player simply autoed the entire special ops event.
Look at the character gear design. Do you think there was actual thought behind making Rey require potency gear, or that Grand Moff Tarkin, a support toon, has like zero base potency? Or was it more or less random? What about these new 100 piece AAT raid exclusive gear items that give a grand total of 2% potency as the only stat? When theres a Lvl 30 blue gear requiring a measly 6 blue pieces that gives +2 potency plus other stats. If you're honest with yourself, you know deep down this has been poorly designed in the most grossly negligent way possible.
I also believe, judging from many clues, that there has been a big turnover of individuals involved making this game over the last year. The people working on it now, are not the same people who conceptualized and conceived the backbone of this game.
The list just goes on and on from Mods rollout that almost instantly killed the game to this 3000 crystals for 10 shard pack.
You're telling me, despite all this, you have 100% faith in this company and they're doing it right, because they're data backs up their decisions?
Are you still playing?
Obviously they are and angry like a lot of people are about the gear crunch too.
