(un)fortunately they aren't that good in arena, otherwise everyone would join you asking for nerfs.
It seems the devs intentionally tweaked AI for Resistance to prevent the squad from being better on defense. Generally it is sad and strange that a squad like this even exists: From the 19 abilities available people use exactly one per toon.
