See as we get Episode 5 Luke through the use of episode 4 characters it would make sense to use episode 5 characters for episode 6 Luke

Ewoks (recently updated) to get C3PO, and C3PO needed to get new luke.

As a bonus the model has C3P0 on his back, and one of his abilities is actually C3P0 doing something from that position. Perhaps an AOE debuff or something ("Don't tell me the odds").

Do we really want Jedi Luke in this game, so many anti-jedi in this game, with damage boost against jedi...

If the movie logic is used. R2 has been with him since pretty much day one, and throughout his whole journey. R2 and C3PO are the only characters in all the films, so it makes sense. We prob won't have to worry about it until next year.
We'll get a few months of lightside, then when episode 8 comes out. It'll be Kylo and his Knights.
