Hi. I'm kinda curious about how the ranking works.Say I am 900 and I pick choose to go against someone 850, for example, and win. I am now 850. Does everyone above move up one point - the team that just lost becomes 851, and so forth, or does the losing team switch rankings with me?

Yup, a simple rank swap works just fine. Makes no difference to you that nothing happens to the players in-between and trying to shuffle 50 players down a rank would cause havoc because everyone's client-side view of the rankings would constantly be getting invalidated by changes based on another player's battle result.

What about it is not fair exactly? You beat a team, you take their place, they get relegated to yours. Simple, effective, fair. I honestly don't see a problem here.

I think they mean that if you take a team, you take their position, but everyone else moves down one place, including the guy you beat. Seems a bit odd, but ok.
