We're all mad about it now, but if we were able to cheese our way through half the raid a week after it's released, what do we think that would do to our overall enjoyment of it? So yeah, I'm with you on understanding how this wasn't exactly "intended" but at the same time it's not exactly the most unthinkable strategy, so it should have been caught before this.
Fixing "bugs" after they prove incredibly effective is a sure way to lose face with the community, even if it's a reasonable fix. We shouldn't be finding these "bugs" after the release.
First, this isn't a bug in any way, shape, or form. It's an unintended interaction that was overlooked. But the mechanics are working as written - no bug.
Second, I would most definitely get more 'enjoyment' from being able to complete the raid without needing to spend excessive time throwing every character in my roster at it just to barely scratch it for minimal damage. And I'm quite sure you actually agree with me. Otherwise, you would be doing the Pit and Tank Raids starting with your weakest teams first. But, I'm pretty sure you're not. I'll wager that you're using the most effective squad(s) you have so you can do as little as possible to get your rewards. Does it really matter that the raid has just been released? I don't think it does.
You're right, I don't disagree with you. I use the most effective squads for both HAAT and HPit (in fact, it's the Ackbar team for both since it works for both). Of course it's fair to point out that 3 of the characters on that team (BB8, CLS, Thrawn) were not released when AAT was released, and the zeta on Asajj was not released either, so I'm using content that came out after the raid was released which makes it very manageable now. I struggled just like everyone else with HAAT for a very long time so it was actually quite rewarding to put together the Ackbar team and do it with ease. That's the kind of "enjoyment" I'm talking about. If we already had characters and teams that could trivialize the raid, what's the point of a new raid?
Anyway, I also don't disagree that it isn't a bug, that's why I had it listed in quotations, to emphasis that it's being called that, when we all know it isn't. It is a natural effect of STH's abilities that was overlooked when the raid was made and now it's being quickly backpedaled and changed after being discovered. That's incredibly frustrating and upsetting to the entire community, but I also feel like it would take a great deal of accomplishment away from the raid if it were allowed to continue. If coming up with a working team after a bit of a struggle doesn't appeal to you, I get it, and sorry that you feel that way, but clearly the devs didn't intend for it to be done so easily from Day One.
I'm not defending them or these actions (which I think are really unfortunate), but from a game stand point I can see how it undermines the entire purpose of releasing new content if that content is trivialized a week after it's released.
