You can counter tanks with QGJ, Teebo. You can counter old Ben with Rex, AA, EE. You can counter Rey with Rey. The main issue I have with your idea is that it's a decided advantage to the attacking arena team. If it were live gameplay then maybe it would work. But there's nothing stopping the attacking team from taunting.
And for what it's worth, I'm seeing less and less of SThan/RG teams in my shard. Especially now that EP has made empire teams what they are now. A lot of Anakin/Jedi teams. A lot of droid teams. None of which have good synergy with taunting tanks. Now that I'm reading my comment back to myself, I see no reason to fix something that isn't broken.
Agreed save for this one point, droids need a taunter, Nebit is the best and with JE, they smash everything in the arena like a bunch of OP rockstars.
On offense, yes. They are can lose on defense. The team I have been discussing doesn't lose on defense to anyone anymore, not on my shard at least. I haven't seen anybody beat the team in over a week.
I really find that hard to believe. I mean i wouldn't win but Teebo,QGJ or Han solo/Palpatine should be some serious counters to such a team. Not to mention Sun Fac/B2 and Rex but those are p2p.
I am not exaggerating. The match goes like this. 213 speed Poe taunts, exposes 3 and wedge does 16K AOEs on everyone. Then STH taunts, giving team TM, Lando goes, crits, Anakin goes, 6k AOE, Lando goes again 12K AOE, I have lost 3 toons in the time I have gotten maybe 1 or two attacks on POE. I am sure someone can beat it but it isn't happening.
Why don't yout run a dispell?
And to your other point how is it different if all speed maxes at 5? They will still make it faster then you because it will be just as hard to get 5 as it is to get 20 (or whatever the secondary max is)
If this is the team to beat what are you doing to counter? Who are you building up, who do you think could beat them?
The "meta" is always going to shift and I think they are keeping it at a good pace. It sounds like you want the devs to cater the game to fit your team and that's not really how it works.
