Tenacity up should mirror Potency up

If you are not aware, these buffs do not match. Potency Up provides a flat 50% potency boost that is additive with your character sheet potency.

Tenacity Up is nearly a million, effectively preventing all debuffs.

Tenacity Up should also be 50%.

-Still an effective buff without directly nerfing any single toon.
-Opens up new teams based on debuffs.
-Would make Tenacity mods worthwhile. Right now there is no need for Tenacity if you have a toon with the buff.


Lots of cool toons have been added with stagger, daze, deathmark, etc. Give us an opportunity to use them!

    Rex provides a much needed balancing effect to arena matches - by both keeping Light Side toons relevant through Tenacity Up, and by generating turn meter per critical hit scored, which de-emphasizes the need for OP speed mods.

    There are counter to Rex and other LS toons which feature Tenacity Up. The issue isn't Ten Up, Rex, Chaze, etc. An able player with a deep understanding of theorycrafting can field an Arena team capable of overtaking Rex/Chaze squads.


    I disagree. DS is basically rendered useless already due to Rex, Chaze, GK and R2. DS cannot compete with this setup. You can claim to say just use B2 and problem solved but that's not the case. You're talking about a wet noodle hitter who's got only 1 useful thing about him... AOE dispel. He's not good for anything else. And as soon as he clears the tenacity up and other buffs, they all get reapplied immediately since there are 3 toons in the other side to do this. It ensures there's always someone ready to put them back up. And all 3 have a great kit to go with their cleanse.

    Rex: cleanse, debuff immunity, TMR basic, TMG leadership

    Chirrut: cleanse, massive HoT abilities, powerful attacker, assist attack, great synergy with Baze

    GK: cleanser, retribution, powerful special calling everyone with buffs to attack (which on this squad is usually all 5)

    You don't see DS teaming ruling arena anymore. Not since R2 came into play. But there was at least a chance without R2. Now there's very, very little chance of a DS team winning vs that team. I imagine it'll be tougher once Fahsoka comes out too.

    As much as you want to say DS had their run with Zaul... (which I agree it was a nice run) there was still a great mix of Rex, GK, Chaze in there. Arena is now dominated by LS characters since R2 and will be further more by Fahsoka. And calling for a Nihilus nerf will only further dominate the cleanse/tenacity up meta.

    I get both sides of the debate. I run both squads. But calling for a nerf for one and not asking for balance for both is the problem imo.
  • The counter to tenacity up is not allowing the other team to have tenacity up. Baze, B2, and deathtrooper all have aoe dispel capability and are decent toons, while nihilis, sun fac, and first order stormtrooper are all decent characters that have a single target dispel on their basic. Find a way to fit them into your lineup so you can land debuffs, rather than just complain that the mechanics are broken (they're not, and tenacity up is a necessary counter to the crippling debuffs that exist)
  • So for my Rogue One squad, why in the world does Potency up not counter Tenacity up? It's a debuff based team, and there are a bunch of characters that can make the whole team immune to debuffs for several turns, but we have no counter play other then dispelling....

    That is what this thread is complaining about.
    Potency up is +50% potency.
    Tenacity up is +999900% Tenacity.

    999900-50 = 988894% chance to resist.
  • Yeah Jedi aren't useless enough already, they have already negated their foresight defence with a load of moves that can't be evaded, may as well take the tenacity side of defence away as well

    Double/Triple cleanse with as many buff immunity tenacity up is the bane of the game and one of the main reason diversity is so low. Every single team relying on debuff became arena-useless.

    Give us +50% Tenacity instead of buff immunity, and make the Tenacity mods great again.


    Tenacity mods were never great. But they could be.
