a major advantage of the current setup is that people who are not going to be around, dont hurt their guild by just sitting out. This is one of the best changes that has been added to this game mode.
there is also no reason to require 50 people. there are plenty of other ways to match without requiring 50 players.
Why should we get that "advantage"?...... The whole.point of tw is to pit two guilds against eachother in competition..... and having those guilds ",equal in Gp", would be exactly like professional sports where people compete in the same division..... There is nothing wrong with that......
If one guild is "strong" because they all have 7* cup, But they lose to a smarter guild that built quality gp, so be it.......
Every tw, there is a number of us screaming at you guys that guilds are sandbagging by leaving out members, yet you ignore it and post tripe.like this.....
There are a handful of things that make a guild good......
- members that focus and build good teams
- members who are active
- members that are focused on making the guild better, not just themselves....
Should these not be the guilds that are winning vs the guilds that are sandbagging to maximize their monthly zeta?
equal GP of the players involved, yes. not equal gp of the guild who could be there but didn't make it.
if we are talking about it being fair, it should be fair for everyone. this includes guilds who dont have all players show up.
you do know i am not a dev, right?
Kyno, I have never seen you be anything but fair.... Dev or non dev..... (And yes, you are not one)....
That being said, I don't agree with you on what is "fair"...... This is a guild event and , as such, requires guild participation...... if your guild isn't participating in a guild event, they deserve to lose....
Instead of encouraging an environment where guilds can maximize Zetas by strategically leaving members out, the devs should be encouraging max participation and building good toons...
They could match on so many things that have nothing to do with 50 players. this is unlike any other guild event we have, where your activity matters almost more than your GP, and not just activity, but activity at particular times out of your control.
why punish a growing guild, or a guild going through a rough patch, or a guild where someone ditches right before it opens? why punish a player (or thier guild) who will not be able to be on their phone for a whole day?
I'm not saying things dont need to be fixed, i'm just pointing out this particular aspect of TW, is good for the community. it needs to be fixed elsewhere. IMHO
Is punishing a "growing guild" worse than punishing one that took the effort to get establshed?..... Yes, they put the effort in, and they deserve the rewards for that effort......like I said, simply match guilds by GP and that goes away..... It isn't rocket surgery.... How about the system just matches straight up gp?......
the problem is, no its not that simple. 50 1.75M GP players wouldn't win against 30 3M GP players. its not about only GP.
Zeta counts, key toons (traya), average player GP, and G11/21 toon count need to all be considered to get a "fair match".
This is where we have a fundamental difference of opinion.....
1- The current matchmaking system propogates exactly what you are saying is unfair.... It encourages guilds to bench players in order to get a more favorable matchup against a guild with less developed rosters.
2- if a guild's gp is comprised of junk toons and they haven't focused on good teams with synergy and strategy, then I submit that they don't deserve to win..... Why should the system reward poor team building and lack of thought with an easier matchup?
This is a competition and should remain competitive.... The point isn't to tee up easy match ups.... The New England Patriots don't sit Tom Brady when they play the Cleveland Browns to make it "fair", and the Browns don't cry fowl when they lose....
A simple match up that involves pitting two guilds of equal GP against eachother is perfectly fine.... And yes, one 3 mil player carries more weight than 3 one mil players.... I get that... But that goes back to my Tom Brady analogy..... Either recruit a Tom Brady or practice and work hard to become one.... It's as simple as that...
It does not encourage this behavior, no more than arena encourages people communicating outside of the game. That is the route some players have chosen to go.
Now if you read my post and thought about the other parameters I listed as also being figured into our current system, you could see this would eliminate that. No guild would bench 5 players of they knew they would be evenly matched on traya or zeta count, or g11/12 count if that meant they would be at a 10-20M deficit in GP which seems to be the range we see on GP range. This wouldn't mean they would be placed against a guild as if they had all 50, but they wouldn't be given an advantage because they are not.
To be fair we need to let people play how they want, which means some weekends or other times, having a real life that doesnt revolve around a phone game. Removing that from this game mode would be a final nail in the coffin.
The current matchmaking isn't fair because it allows a range but doesnt consider useful in game factors. The GP range should be allowed to fluctuate but matching should matter on the teams that will be played, or at least the factors that would make those teams strong.
I have said I have nothing against better GP matching, but GP isnt everything. Benching 1 Patriots player is not the same as benching Brady, (he has a zeta). But it should always be matched on active GP with other factors and not punish a guild for someone sitting out.
