While I complete agree with what you said, the complaint that I see as valid is the fact that the game mechanic of the TW is such that guilds on the very top of the scale will, most likely, end in a draw, awarding no leaderboard point to either guild. That is a problem, because the most likely outcome is that the most powerful guilds end up with 0 Leader Board points.
However, I also believe that ignoring past performance on the leader-board would also be a problem, you might as well just list guilds by their GP if they won their last TW.
