The Great Stun Gun Drought of 2019

I'd say 50% of my crystals are used to farm characters, the other 50%...farm stun guns.

Tbh, CG are losing money due to the stun gun shortage.

I have little interesting in gearing up anything outside of the meta due to how I can't afford to spend stun guns. Ontop of that it takes so long to break G9 for some characters I tend to end up having enough gear to push them right to G12 once that's done, effectively making G10/G11 gear mostly worthless.

At least lower the price in the crystal store instead of having them priced at a huge premium. They should be half the cost of what they are in the store. That would encourage cystal/stun gun purchasing as right now the costs are over the top for the gear level.

I'm glad it just isn't me. I can't remember the last time when a stun gun showed up in the shard shop.

I have plenty of stungun shards. What I need is more Carbantis! :D

Yep, I've noticed the same. I've only seen stun gun salvage in the shard shop twice in the past two weeks. Used to be more often.

Is it possible that the reason stunguns and gold eyeballs are used so much in character gear because of the need to add health via gear in order to keep up with the amount of protection that is added on each gear level at upgrade. The really big increase in stunguns being used in character gear seemed to coincide (approximately) with mods 2.0 where they tried to make a bigger emphasis on health in mods too.

Clearly stungun requirements are a limit on the pace we can gear characters, at the same time though, if it was a more even distribution of other pieces of non-challenge/non-rancor purple gear that was required would we not just be limited in gearing progression by a more even distribution of purple gear types.

It would be great though if you could pickup stunguns for guild tokens, since they are used so often.

But it also depends who you’re gearing. What you’re short on depends on where you’re focused. I have an excess of carbantis and few stun guns now. I’ve been focused on Jedi Knight Revan and his squad for gear. They need a ton of stun guns. So I never have enough—right now. And if you’re not focused on gearing one or two toons at a time, the gear shortage will be more widespread. Thus the key is manage what you have and focus where you want it to go.

You do realize that doesn't remotely counter what people are saying, just because there are bottlenecks that are not stun guns doesn't mean the stun gun bottleneck is so ridiculous and blatant.

For everyone who argues poor resource management, how is it fair for CG to require Mk5 stun guns to get from g8 to g9 for most toons and then multiples per gear tier from g9-g12? I have thousands of higher level gear I'm not using cuz I need mk5 stun guns and cuffs. Every character needs them and most need multiples on certain gear tiers. They just need to admit it's a pay wall to limit gear progression, which is extremely detrimental given the increased difficulty in legendary events, which requires us to gear even more toons. I got 40+ characters that need them and many of them need 2-3. Combined with the crystals needed for refreshes for these 1 node toons, it's so hard to progress without spending money. I spend money from time to time but without being a whale game progression is at a slugs pace right now

This. Also once i get a team to g11/g12 (depending on whether they are tw/tb b teams or arena worthy) i leave that team alone and don't bother changing the makeup when a new toon drops. For the simple reason that i don't have the stun guns to spare for a toon that makes a B team slightly better.

Meanwhile I have thousands of pieces of daily challenge gear that no toon ever seems to use.

Personally, I've thrown a few bucks at this game just because I like it, between $20-25 lifetime. But the stun gun paywall is the type of thing that prevents me from spending more. If I have 40 characters and 60 gear slots to fill just to level each one up once, that's 1400 crystals x 60. $20 gets you 2800, so we're talking $600 to level up characters just from gear level 7 to 8. Not in this lifetime. (Btw, that's not to criticize anyone who does spend that, it's your money).
