The Mark 1 Grek Module Bottleneck

Hello there,

I'm a recently returning player who the advertisement in front of Mandalorian & Grogu completely worked on. I had set down the game years ago and jumped in for a chance to collect and battle with some cool Star Wars characters.

I may have gotten a bit overly enthusiastic about the idea; buying the Hyperdrive Bundle, a bunch of Lightspeed bundles, the Episode Pass (for Episode I of the New Republic Era), the Episode Pass + (for Episode II of the New Republic Era), as well as the Red, Let's Go bundles 1 and 2 from the shop. I also, because I was excited about unlocking Rotta as my first ever Marquee character unlock, invested in hundreds of dollars of crystals to help get everyone up to 5-Stars so that I could hopefully unlock Rotta and be in a good place moving forward.

All seems well, except for one massive bottleneck - the Mk 1 Grek Module, seems to me to be broken.

In order to take my R5-D4 from its current Level 25 to the required Level 90 (or even just to level 35, where the Mk. 1 Grek is no longer needed), I would require 12.7K of the pesky little piece. The only problem is, they aren't available at that quantity. There is a cash item in the shop that would sell 500 for $7.50, but it has a purchase limit of 10, which, for $75, wouldn't even get me halfway out of this deficit.

Because there is currently no way to farm or acquire enough of these modules via crystals or cash, it feels like an unintended economy choke-point left over from the recent progression curve adjustments. Being blocked here means that despite heavy investment into 5-star Era units, players are effectively sidelined from finishing their push for the big beefy Hutt dude.

I admit I am not a very knowledgable player; I'm new to Eras, this is my first time, and I did just kind of jump in and probably spent more than I should to try and get 'on the ball', as it were, but right now I feel like I've kind of been had, and I'm hoping this is just a bug or oversight that can and will be remedied somehow.

I’m starting this thread hoping for some constructive community engagement and hopefully some visibility or feedback from the developers.

Firstly, are other active or paying players running into this exact same mathematical wall?

Second, is there an upcoming fix or an alternative bridge to this lower-tier material bottleneck so players trying to unlock the Era Champion can actually progress?

Looking forward to hearing everyone's thoughts and experiences, advice or commiserations.

Cheers,

Gil

  • I submitted a ticket to ask them to look at it - they suggested we continue to upvote the thread and get more visibility on the issue. Not sure if that means there's hope or not, but I choose to be optimistic that it can be remedied! Please share and like the post if you can to ensure they see this.

  • Im in a similar boat. I havent spent on anything beyond the episode pass but the problem is the same; I returned to the game after two of the marquees had already been over and now Im missing the mk1 stuff to take them to era level 35 and the only available pack is A) more expensive than I'd hoped for and B) not even close to enough to get me where I need to be.

From Ward's and Teva's events it looks like we get the mk1 stuff you need to get 1 char to era level 35 from these events as a first time reward, meaning if you miss one event you wont get one of the chars through these low levels and the more you miss the fewer chars you'll get up. This would fit with the "high engagement = g12" because not being there isnt exactly "high engagement", especially considering you'd have to do it a single time during the event week.
Somehow I ended up with 30600 ability modules and 1270 performance cores more than the events would have given me one extra char at 35 and another one at 21. I dont know where these are from, doesnt make much sense if they came from the coliseum progress rewards, but I havent been able to find a list for those so far

What a strange comparison to make. Still, I do hope it gets resolved. I haven't heard anything from CG yet, but I'm pinging them where I can.

  • That definitely sounds like an unintended progression wall, especially for players who have already invested heavily into the event. Hopefully the developers address the Mk 1 Grek shortage soon, because bottlenecks like this can be more frustrating than finding the Best online video compressor when you need one quickly.
