I have been surprised by just how viable Nightsisters can be relative to their investment in gear and zeta's in comparison with other factions.
But, let's not kid ourselves here into thinking that it's actually a level playing field. You can max gear/ability up a Bounty Hunter squad or a Droid squad or Jedi squad and still not have a great deal of viability in Arena for your investment.
The power creep is such that those most recently updated tend to have an advantage. Nightsisters aren't the most recent update, but because of the gating of Mother Talzin, they've taken longer than usual to become the mainstream.
Now, my Empire team (comprised of zzThrawn (L), Palpatine (not zeta'd), Vader (zeta lead not used), GMT (no zeta) and Shoretrooper) has absolutely no problem clearing any combination of Nightsisters. But guess what, against JT Rey, it's a bit rubbish. Against CLS meta sides, it's 50-50. I'm sure if I flip it about and zeta Palpy, its viability against others will improve. But my point is for the investment I've put into them, I have no trouble with Nightsisters.
I get that having invested loads in a CLS meta squad it's disappointing that it's so easily beat. But this is the power creep, not a conspiracy. Lots of people invested heavily in all manner of squads over the months and years only to find them sidelined. Frankly there are plenty of uses in the game for that CLS meta line up in TB's, TW's and raids and no doubt they'll continue to be excellent characters.
