I don't know about the credit crunch, I'm probably just bad at the game because I never have anything to spend them on. Looking at my achievements I've earned 70m total but only spent 52m of it, I started maybe 2-3 months ago so maybe the game has balanced so players gain more than they lose now, but because of backlog early players are suffering from the old system
