The question is around investment vs reward. If I spend 24 million maxing out 3 more scoundrels, how long would it take to pay that back?
If I'm not making my money back in a reasonable amount of time the event is useless.
Exactly. If it's reward of only 500k per week, that's 48 weeks to return your investment. If it's 1 million, 24 weeks. That's a long time to see a return, especially for a mobile game. The rewards need to actually be spectacular in order to make this event worth while at all, and it needs to be refreshed with ally points or energy. They are taking away a f2p source of credits and gating it behind a bunch of lack luster heroes, with a potentially terrible reward, thus creating a ridiculous ROI. I think that's the hard concept people aren't understanding.
