The argument from the community has been Uniques "persisting" after Death. However, the Devs have made it clear that Uniques will no longer apply after Death. Slightly different argument but same outcome.
Have you not seen the original trilogy? Old Ben clearly tells Darth Vader what will happen "If You Strike Me Down." I don't see anything wrong with his unique giving allies a buff. Maybe the developers can change the name to a "unique-passive" and allow it to bypass those new changes.
Yes, I understand your reasoning about real dead people not being able to apply abilities to others. I personally don't know anyone who can. However, there is a huge flaw in your argument due to this being a game. A game of Star Wars at that.
