There have been 8 films 4 of which are Rebel vs Empire. There are more named characters on the Rebel side as they are the main characters so there being more Rebels in the game than any other faction makes sense.

Ummm, what? Every new rebel is named. The newest un named rebel was scarif rebel pathfinder.
Literally making the point of that just because a toon is the same person as another toon doesn't mean it isn't acceptable for them to be in game, thats all tbh
