Wow, that really bites... condolences to those affected by the bug. My sympathy to those who have repeatedly dealt with issues and not received compensation, especially to those who spent money. Furthermore, to those that were threatened by PR with account closure if the claim was faulty (there was already technical fault, whose to say the claim report would come back accurate?)
That being said... we shouldn’t jump down the dev’s throats. We knew this was a sensitive period of time where any issue could arise. Yes - DS TB was released too early without testing. Realistically, WE are the testers. It’s a good thing they didn’t cancel TB, otherwise we wouldn’t have found these other issues.
Dev response may have been kurt / cold / brief, but they were certainly dealing with a LOT at once as soon as it happened. I imagine the “wait 24 hours” was meant to be like “we can’t do anything until tomorrow when we know more, we’re working as fast as we can.” In so many words. They also aren’t at liberty to divulge certain information to the public without:
- Confirmed / verified info, what went wrong and why
- viable solution, plan of action
- Approval to disclose such information, keep us in the loop -when appropriate-. We don’t work there.
To us, it just seems like “go f*** yourself, I’m busy / don’t want to deal with you.” This whole week has been a learning experience for everyone. Hopefully the players affected get what they deserve (in a positive way), and this issue is fixed from happening again.
