The odd thing is, EA can't figure out that simple communication is the key. Tell us you are bug testing and we are fine. But you continue to not say anything about anything. Until it's time to panic. Then you can let us know what we need to spend money on.
I know developers and publishers need to make money. I am fine with that. It's the how that is the issue here. They love to keep us in the dark on every single event until the last second. It is obviously becoming an issue. A slight change could go a long way to make customers happy. If that's what you want.
Unfortunately, I lost faith a while ago in this sort of thing as it is a common trend among the bigger game companies. Developers need to be given more flexibility in doing their jobs from what it sounds like to me. There are quotas to meet to make shareholders happy, and I don't know if it was related to the controversy over Battlefront 2 or not to get some things rushed out to generate some more revenue or just to serve as a distraction. EA has a pretty aggressive business model that studios have to strictly adhere to I think. Hopefully, with the controversy lately they will dial things back a bit and find more of a healthy medium with the players that still generates a lot of revenue.
Personally, I thought they rolled out territory wars in a proper state. A few hiccups are natural, but overall it was released in a very professional state in my view. I was also very impressed with how the developers were listening to feedback for the light-side territory battle, and the officers in my guild are very happy with the officer tools and being able to break down player contribution between the phases. Dark Side may not have been rolled out quite as well, and fortunately territory wars came to the rescue. I'm sure dark side will be in a better state when it comes back.
