Just change your arena 'team' to your lowest level, lowest geared, unmodded character before you leave the game...
This is what I am trying to get some ideas to fix... there are these level 85 players that may have played for 6 months or so then quit and are still clogging up space in the top 2,500 of their arena. Meanwhile, someone in their shard that only played for a month or two and decided to come back to the game and play again is stuck in the bottom of their arena shard getting bad rewards and there are a bunch of players not even collecting their rewards that are preventing them from getting better rewards.
I know everyone says that the low level guy that quit should either start a new account or just suck it up and grind past the inactive players, but I believe this is terrible advice for multiple reasons:
1. Active players should always get better rewards than inactive players. It will keep them happier with the game and encourage them to keep playing.
2. Letting the active players bypass all of the inactive players will give them a sense that they are competing well in their shard and motivate them to play more and probably spend more to stay competitive. I guarantee players in the top 1,000 spend 10x more than those in the bottom 19,000.
3. People re-roll accounts so much these days there are probably 50,000 accounts that were made just to check what rank they're starting at in a new shard. It's unnecessary.
