is there where BioWare got the name? didn't know that if so. thanks for the info. will have to check into that. should I assume this was a Dark Horse comic? were their characters in the game that originated from the comics? was this a multi-issue comic or a single story? do tell and share. I thought I read before the game was released that BioWare went so far back as to make sure their game was original content that didn't conflict with anything existing or to come into existence.

interesting. reading up on it now and answered some of my own questions. it does say according to a wikia that it was the inspiration for the video game. interesting it also has a quote "With Tales of the Jedi, the potential is as vast as the galaxy itself. We haven't scratched the surface of what TotJ could be. It's so far back in the past, that there is no reason to fear that any story we tell could interfere with core continuity." ―Christian Gossett, Tales of the Jedi artist which goes back to earlier posts.

I admit technically I stand corrected. however I don't think anyone could say the game lives off or thrives off the inspiration from these comics. doubt most people who even play either game (myself included) know the details of this inspiration and it's stories. and of the names mentioned on the wikia, I don't recall any of them being referenced in either game, KOTOR or SWTOR. perhaps there is some obscure reference in SWTOR I'm not aware of though and this shows the games did not benefit or gain anything from this connection.

Just right after "dark side rises", "sith return", "rebels will be f...", "darkness rules" commercials and offering almost unobtainable chars (opposite to f2p wiggs), EA gives us another torturing rebel chars which everyone hates about.

I hope this game won't lose players.

KOTOR/KOTOR II/SWTOR none of them benefited in any high degree from some obscure unknown inspiration? played SWTOR for two years solid then off and on and never once heard mention in general chat or a guild chat about "Tales of the Jedi" nor until just yesterday did I know of this inspirational existence so it couldn't even factor in when I purchased the XBOX games.

compare that to everyone that obviously played KOTOR II (not me. thought I hadn't even bought it but found it last night among my XBOX games) and you think they didn't recognize that planet? or the connection? heck google either one. see which one is talked about more. haven't even played that 2nd game and became aware of the KOTOR link but in 20 plus years not the comic link. didn't know the comic is where the double bladed light saber came from either. you think the double bladed light saber is sooo popular because of the comics? you couldn't even argue that case either as it's doubtful as to how many people who watched Phantom Menace knew this even though technically it's a fact also. reading further it also stated these stories occurred and were given permission to occur 4000 some odd years prior to "A New Hope" by Lucas himself thus putting them roughly a 1000, give or take, years before KOTOR. maybe the other poster meant the follow up series was only 50 years prior to the game? I'm still reading up on these stories myself.

This is a Star Wars game, right? So let them add Star Wars Characters.... For gods sake they have Coruscant Underworld Police in the game, but they can't add a few characters from an active Star Wars TV show? Why does everyone get so bent out of shape over everything. There are some people that like the Rebels characters, they want to appease those people, and then they're going to go back to releasing other star wars characters. The world isn't going to end because they decided to release some characters from the only currently airing Star Wars show....
