What's the ideal squad/tactics to 7* Thrawn?

I currently have Ezra g10 , Hera g9, Chopper g8, sabine g8, and Kanan g8, all with strong mods. but the 4th stage of the last Thrawn challenge just destroys me. Is there something I am missing? I feel like it shouldn't be this hard.

Sounds doable. I was able to 3-Star it with: Hera & Ezra (G9, Speed & Health Mods), Kanan (G8, Health x4, Tenacity x2), Chopper (G8, Health x6), Zeb (G8, Potency x6)

    Priority 1: Debuff Taunter
    Priority 2: Debuff Deathtroopers
Priority 3: Stunlock 1 Deathtrooper while killing other.
Priority 4: Stunlock Thrawn while killing remaining Deathtrooper.
Priority 5: Stunlock Thrawn while killing remaining Troopers.
Priority 6: Stunlock Thrawn & Kill.

This was not just RNG,either. The first time I went with this strategy I got it down to him and 1 healer pretty easily. I got excited/overconfident and ignored the healer to go after Thrawn, but I couldn't damage through the heals and once he took out Zeb it was o.v.e.r. over. Second time went down just like the first, except I killed the last healer and went after him. At one point, he resisted four consecutive times (3Dazes and 1 Stagger (with 74% Potency on Zeb!)) and went on a rampage and killed two of my team. I thought 'Oh heck no! I want to 3-star this guy!' so I retreated and tried a third time and everything went down just like the first two times, but this time he didn't get Uber Tenacity Streak and stayed stunlocked and died like the squishy little Empire Smurf he is.

Once you kill the 2 deathtroopers, you don't really NEED Chopper and Kanan (though obviously they help a lot), so I wouldn't panic about keeping them alive near the end. If you can get to Thrawn & Healers with just Hera, Ezra and Zeb they are enough to lock him down and take out the healers.

You're joking right? Thrawn can 1 shot g10 ezra. Once one guy dies you are done if any add us up. It just isn't possible without a full g9 and a couple of g10. Don't believe the liars who are saying it can be done with g8.

It can be done. Just keep at it.

Why? I've tried hundreds of times and it's exactly the same. None if my guys except Ezra do actual damage. Then thrawn Simply one shots them ok e at a time
  • Well there is not much you can do but keep trying. It took me like 200 tries to get it, moving mods around to get certain characters to go at certain times.

    @Luniz

Thrawn can pretty much one-shot everybody at G8/9. You need to (1) limit his opportunities to use that attack by stunning or staggering him (2) discourage him from using that attack by debuffing him so that he prioritizes his cleanse when he can and (3) timing your 'Backup Plan' to ensure that it is on a taunting tank when you cannot prevent him from the big attack.

You may be focusing too much on damage. This match (at least at the G8/G9 gear level) is all about crowd control. Dealing damage should almost always be the LAST priority in this fight, unless every opponent is stunned, none of them have any buffs or turn meter and a unicorn is doing the hokey pokey in a tutu.

Oh, and calling the people who are taking the time to offer advice 'liars' isn't cool:

    Well said.
  • I still don't see what advice is new that I can follow. Was up all night trying and trying and buffing up pheonix more (omega'd, level 82-83, G8 all across) and trying but just can't get anything together.
I'd try to follow the checklist but I can't get 2-3 steps in before someone dies...I even had a round where everyone got hit except Kanan (then Zeb died) then Kanan taunted and Hera set him up with backup plan and with all that and full protection he lasted like 4-5 hits and died permanently...during which my team couldn't move at all to take advantage of his taunt. And that's with DT not doing their insta-execute, which is yet another reason to wait excruciatingly for my turn JUST to hit the 'retreat' button...it was just ka-pow ka-pow you're dead...ka-pow ka-pow you too...

There's just too much grief involved in this event that shouldn't be happening - why can't it be just about farming our toons to the desired level and getting Thrawn with that. I'm not gonna be proud or happy if/when I complete it as even with the 'right' strategy there's still so much left to chance, these events are scars in the experience of a game, not proud moments to remember fondly.
