What's the point of verifying an email address?

What is the purpose of these requirements to verify on an email address I only use for SWGOH?

Or is this just another completely pointless and annoying waste of time like Coliseum?

How many more pointless and annoying things do you think you can add to SWGOH until a mass uninstall?

I am curious though. How many both paid and F2P people did EA lose over the last year due to Coliseum?

Clearly more than a few. Otherwise the big SWGOH content creators on Youtube wouldn't have started transitioning to other games.

okay here's another secret but because I'm feeling good today I will share it too and it is that F2P players have no reason to quit after all the changes that accelerate F2P growth

and to answer your original question "what's the point of verifying an email address" it's for security. do you want your account to be hacked?
