This trend of CG recycling content is getting really old. ROTE is just a recycling of GC’s and GeoTB, with a sprinkling of new stuff, half of which the majority of the playerbase won’t see for quite some time.
This is ... very much not true. ROTE is a Territory Battle, and thus it repackages some familiar elements of TBs, otherwise the complete disconnect would cause people to wonder why it even used the TB name.
That said, different planets, the adoption of planetary modifiers (that they test in GCs before deciding they like them enough to place more permanently), SCADS of new adversaries which might come to players' rosters someday, the complete transformation of the importance of Ops missions (even if they didn't transform the mechanic), the expandable format so that some parts of the TB can become routine while you get to look forward to new planets and new battles as they are added (or as you qualify), and, yes, the relic-gated eligibility system are all radically different from anything in TBs past.
RotE is a very different TB. Even some of the recycled bits (like playing the Reek battle from a different perspective) are fun. And I don't know about you, but I'm not loaded with r9 squads who are full clearing zone6 planets on the regular. From r5 special missions I still haven't bothered to unlock because of low priority toons to Zeffo to the Haven Med Station (I've neglected my DS toons, sue me) to literally EVERYTHING r9 which my guild doesn't do yet, to the early DS fleet missions which have to get a new ship to make them different (and more reliable) someday, I have lots to look forward to doing that I either can't do now or just haven't yet b/c of my guild. That wasn't true of Geonosis TB for more than ... 18-20 months? And honestly after 9 or 10 months the only thing I hadn't beaten at least occasionally was the KAM-required p4 mission, and that was just because it took me a while to learn my guild wasn't taking TB seriously and that I would need to hop guilds if I ever wanted KAM.
This TB is different in many ways, not the least being that there are so many new missions and planets to still look forward to 11 months into playing it. Instead of settling down, I'm pushing other players in my guild to get their JKCKs done and get us onto Zeffo. There's so much every time I think about ending this comment, I think of 3 more things to say, but I will end it here. RotE is very different, and the only way it's "recycled content" is in the sense that it uses the squad vs. squad format and all the toons and abilities we've fought so long to upgrade.
But all that does is prove that it's still the same game, SWGOH. A game that I kinda like.
