I disagree. While there is some new content in ROTE, much of which is still inaccessible to a majority of players and will be for a long time(looking at you R9's) Im not comparing ROTE to GEOTB, Im saying that there is not much new in ROTE.
This is ... fair. I mean, I don't really see it that way because I see new combinations of familiar elements to be "new", but I definitely see how people could see it that way.
I will point out that there are some cool new adversaries (Pykes, as I mentioned, Purge Troopers, etc.) and that saying that you won't access something for quite some time (r9 planets) also comes with the possibility that you can control your ability to access new content by focussing on something other than the latest GL chase. Sure, maybe a lot of people don't want to r8 Phoenix, but that terrible squad is completely transformed by CapRex, and if you want to relic them up they can do a lot of damage in Mixed r5/r6/r7 worlds on your way to using them in totally new r8 missions.
5xr8 is an effort, I admit, but it's an effort that you can choose to make or not. Same with Zeffo and Cere/JKCK.
Accessing a new battle or even a new zone (planet in ROTE, zone in GeoTB) is more under your control now than it ever has been. Don't like r8 Phoenix? What about r8 for your NS and the Haven battle? Would you rather take some unused Jedi or Qi'ra and L3 to r5 to open up that new mixed battle? Your choice!
Anyway, you have a right to feel however you feel. And I can hear you saying that ROTE is pulling from a lot of places, but that's still pulling from existing pieces rather than creating totally new ones. I just have a more optimistic take because I like that there are multiple opportunities to grow your roster and then use them. In the past things were so focussed on what CG wanted you to do. You have to get GLO for the new raid, etc. Now you can r6 your Geos or Aphra or r8 your Phoenix or NS or bring along some mostly useless smugglers and Jedi, and you can get rewarded for ANY of those things, not only the one CG is pushing this month.
