I appreciate the frank communications on this, even though I'm sad to see the back of tournaments.
I thought with a bit of tweaking they worked well. I'd put a lot of time into one of them only to fall short of the reward bracket I was aiming for, which was disappointing, but I felt with a bit more expansion of those brackets, maybe slightly less steep participation costs as you go along, they would have been close to being correct.
I'd hate to see the back of PVP tournaments forever, so good luck in your endeavours to make the Aston Martin of PVP!
I am curious as to whether there'll be any hope of F2P players unlocking more TIE Adv shards and such, tho packs you can buy (any pack really) are so expensive and the return on investment just seems poor.
Back in the day when you simply bought a game and that was that, it was uncommon to pay £30-£50 for a given title ($37-$62). Now in the shop I'm being offered the priveledge of buying Kylo Ren and his ship for £38.99. Basically the cost of a game.
Is it a full 7* Kylo Ren? No, I'll need to buy it 3 times to come anywhere close to that.
If I do buy it 3 times, will I have the credits to level him up? No, it comes with 300k credits, so I'll have 900k total of the 6million plus required to max a character. Will he be remotely geared? No there's no gear.
With over 100 characters to choose from, he represents 1% of the pool of characters and to get him to max level would cost almost £120. This feels like a ridiculous situation, clearly some people do it but it's baffling to me.
Sorry to go off on a tangent there... I'll reign it in... I just hope there's a way for people with a grip on reality to unlock characters without having to re-mortgage. Tournaments seemed like a good way, I look forward to an appropriate replacement.
