Why isn't R2D2 also a pilot on Anakin's ETA-2 Starfighter?

Cause he will be used with Pilot Luke and his ship red 5, who is different from Jedi Luke

Fun fact, the game uses the following IDs for the ships you've named:

Plo: BLADEOFDORIN
Biggs: XWINGRED3
Wedge: XWINGRED2
Poe: XWINGBLACKONE

But he is already on Anakin's starfighter....why can't he be on both? I guess I could see the problem if both ships were deployed at once.....but he is sitting right there on Anakin's ship now. Seems like a waste.

I'd say the main reason would be because it'd block people who are new and don't have the ship from using Anakins Starfighter at all. but if they had it for Lukes, with CLS, then everyone who has CLS already had R2, so they could make Lukes X-Wing another legendary ship.

Because no one pilots 2 ships for now?

Well yeah but there are a lot of ships newer players couldn't get because it would have 2 to 4 pilots needed to unlock the ship. Not just Anakin's starfighter. Still I don't know why R2 is on the ship if his toon can't be used. Not a huge deal but it kinda bothers me.

They'd need to strip away the tags from him then. Currently he not only has the galactic republic tag (Anakins era) but also the rebel tag (Lukes era) and the resistance tag (Reys era). I can alrdy see the community uproar if they'd remove the tags.
