Why not "Guild vs. Guild" type setups?
Seems to me that, with the elimination of tournaments, that plying two guilds against one another would be more enjoyable.

No, no and no thank you OP! It would simply keep widening the already Grand Canyon-sized gap between the guilds... And of course, too much exploiting would inevitably happen.
