There's an entire group of people that pride themselves on the fact that they play it without spending any money at all. You don't even have to look for them - they'll very quickly let you know that they're 'f2p' even if you don't ask.
Also I have no competitive nature, nor emotional attachment to any of these characters. My biggest gripe about the star wars franchise is the egregious lack of character development in the majority of the story.
