Always a Choice vs. mass assists

The ability clearly states that characters can’t gain more than 1 stack of the Protection Up. But what about consequtive stacks?

Let’s say JKR calls everyone to assist, the target should gain 40% undispelable Prot Up, but let’s say 3 attacking Jedi damage through it, shouldn’t the 4th Jedi attack reapply a new stack of this Protection Up?

According to the mechanics on swgoh.gg, the protection up buff doesn't apply again once it has successfully been applied in someone's turn.

    Grant Shield
For Current Target from Enemy Side who is Alive
This effect will SKIP EXECUTION if the previous effect successfully executed
Add a shield of 5% Max Health
    Effect is unresistable

So judging from that, if JKR calls mass assists, as soon as the 1st jedi attacks out of turn, the target will gain prot up. If the next 3 jedi burn through that protection, the 4th will NOT cause a new stack of prot up since the constraint I bolded above states that it will skip since it was already applied once that turn.

I understand how it works. I’m trying to say that it shouldn’t work that way.

Gotcha. I thought you were asking what it's interaction with mass assists currently are.

I agree with you though. It definitely should not work that way, with the prevalence of toons with mass assists like GK and Revan. A single application of 40% protection up isn't really going to do much for Padme and gang when you're getting swarmed by Jedi with a plethora of offensive bonuses + Yoda who can hit you for 80k damage.

Even if they made it to where it only the zeta upgrade can make prot up apply more than once(non stacking) during a swarm attack, that would be better.

We're also talking about this here.

If she is to be part of the rock, paper, scissor meta. Than this needs to be addressed and continued to be hammered until we get a dev response.

  • Mass assist.
    4 out of turn attacks.
4 protection up triggers. 3 overwrite the first, 1 remains.
    5 Jedi deal damage.

    That is all.
