Arena is currently primarily EP led teams with Vader to move fast and ideally give TM on his first sequence of attacks (force crush followed by culling blade)That worked great for a moment (your personal experience may have varied depending on your mods and how fast you could make Vader)But then Sion was introduced!So now he gives a potential TM boost to Nihilus when he takes damage... And next comes the “coin flip”Does the opposing team’s Nihilus move next? Or does your team win the flip and EP or Nihilus of whoever moves next?That probably will decide how the battle progresses... You might win... or you might lose...It all depends on pure RNG and how lucky you are in. that particular battle...I don’t personally care for it much... and in high end arena it is becoming more and more prevalent with the way the meta is moving... What do you think? Is the “coin flip” meta back again?

It feels the arena went back to the 19th century with this current meta. RNG always played a part of PvP in this game but RNG on turn meter is simply horrible and enraging. This meta is such a huge step backward...

I am sorry, but this smells awfully like "I was hyped for the rework and loved autoing my arena but now a new character is introduced which counters ONE mechanic in this game so now I have to change one trick pony team and I dont like that. Also I dont like seeing old toons in the arena which is basically what EP rework was all about but I dont like the other ones so no no for them"
If sion counters Zader, use something else. Seriously.

Yep. Unless one team has incredibly faster mods, many toons on both sides hit 100% TM - and the coin flips begin! How many will EP stun? Whose DN goes first?

But yes, it is very RNG-heavy now. The good news is that typically, on offense, there are enough "real" decisions (who to ability block Vader's basic, who to shock, who to use Thrawn's specials on, etc.) that you can overcome some bad RNG.

This is true for sure... and I’m kind of glad it prevents the “click auto and win” teams from dominating (even though clicking auto has long been a way of deciding what teams are actually viable for me)

The EP stuns is a big factor as well...

RNG doesn’t make for a gratifying experience in arena... sure mods can play some role... but not enough of a difference to reward those that have invested a lot in them

It’s horrible. I can fight a team and win with all my characters alive and at full health and then I can fight the same exact person 7 minutes later and not even kill one of my opponents characters. It’s pretty ridiculous. There is just too much emphasis on speed and turn meter. That’s all arena is about. All the other stats barely even matter.
