Barriss Offee

This is how it works for all characters. Any character’s unique ability no longer applies once that character dies.

All Unique zeta abilities only function while their toon is alive, same with Special ability Zetas (Although an Effect they have granted May last persist until they expire through their normal conditions, think things like Damage Over Time, Expose, Etc.)

Only Lead Zetas (in the Lead slot, or the ally slot -from the borrowed hero in some PVE content) abilities persist for the remainder of the battle once their toon is defeated

They have always worked this way, it is not exclusive to Barris.

No, some characters' uniques do apply after they die.

You're forgetting about Old Ben's unique; there are others.

Old Ben's unique triggers upon his death. Prior to it does nothing. So yes it works in the complete opposite way.

Doesn't Bastilla(jedi) ability of added protection continue after she's knocked out?

Phoenix is a good way to understand this. Hera's lead makes them share their uniques.

If you kill Hera, her unique (20% tm when using special) is shut down for all members. But the remaining squad continues to share their uniques.

Edit: Turns out I was wrong about Hera having a unique (snap, I'm such a noob). Anyways, if you kill, say, Kanan, all the Phoenix stop counterattacks. That's his unique and its no longer active when he dies.

So, you missed the part where I said the effects might last until they expire through normal conditions when you quoted me?
Are you going to try and argue with 5’s tactical awareness next? Because that would be one I would be willing to concede as the exception that proves the rule. (And in that case, the zeta is specifically dormant UNTIL the conditions to activate it are met).

As a matter of fact a few years ago, back when Barriss was still in the meta rotation with Qui-Gon the devs discovered that her unique was bugged and not expiring upon her death and was way OP (for that time), and they updated it to work like everyone else's.
