Best counter to cls?

It will be hard to counter CLS in young shards since for sure you don't have GK yet neither Thrawn. Try Bariss and Old Ben as tank.
Why not a Jyn lead with Cassian, K2, Old Ben, Bariss, all easily farmable. 2 tanks, a lot of debuffs and exposes.

Tarkin works nice too. not optimal but fairly well.
also stealth or daze/stun/fracture is good to have
no not darth maul(he works but i doubt it's a good investment in the long run) but R2/Thrawn/or even zeb or anyone that stun would work
plus NS really really counters cls well

You can go for nightsisters they are pretty good and will become farmable soon
Rex can counter him pretty good
My team was rex chaze r2 nihilus
You can go for resistance too but you will get shot down if han stuns your poe

No doubt Resistance is great on offense, but they lack in defense. I have beaten them many times with all my characters remaining, and they were mostly G12 with my team at G10/11 (Rex, Zihilus, Zarris, Thrawn, R2). I am trying to come up with a counter to CLS myself. Once the new Kylo becomes farmable, he may be a good choice as a leader with his constant taunt, counter, health and protection recharge, plus inflicting tenacity down to open the door for the many other debuffs FO inflicts.

There is a guy who runs a mean Rex in my arena. With Thrawn, GK, DN and R2. All of us CLS users agree that he is our toughest match up. Barring the now newer JTR. Zariss teams can be tough too, but not too bad to face

Thrawn Empire is very good counter to Cls. You can even auto CLs teams with them. But if You are quite young in game so You can't have them yet. Empire is very long farm. Without spending I am still building those last two: Shoretrooper and Krenic to 7 stars. 5 months of farming. Still 35 shards to finish Shore, Krenic 15.

I'm building mine now. What are you using? I've got Thrawn and Tarkin 7*, Shore and DT 6*, and I've recently target ST as my 5th because I wanted an off-tank to keep ST alive, I was using ERG but he wasn't cutting it. Would Krenic be better in place of someone?

I use Thrawn ( obvious), DT, Shore, Storm, Krenic. Tarkin is not bad but I think Krenic is much better. Storm and Shore have to be fast. My Storm has 209 speed and I think should be faster. Storm just dont die in those fights. my iphone is lagging so i have many times draws, but my team on offense is almost always full. Easilly I could be top 5 everyday but after many tries and many draws i give up. I am always top20-30 without any problem. And what is very nice with Empire that they dont have problems against NS.

Agree CLS has broken our shard arena atm.

Very frustrating to have the match over in first minute due to one character in g9 whacking tanks in g10 to 1/3 health..I have CLS but refuse to use him...trying to resist the rebel scum!

That said I’m a bit clueless on how to counter the deadly mix of CLS+Raid Han + R2 + Wiggs...the crits on this team and stealth are just rediculous...granted maybe at endgame properly modded teams can stand up to them but at our level (80-84) Rebels just break arena.

Arena should be rock/paper/scissors not rock/bigger rock/CLS.

Maybe NS is the answer? So I have read..

I just got CLS myself this round. He is exceptionally overpowered. He is the best toon I've ever used on offense. Able to ignore taunt whenever I want? My god that is insane. I can beat every single team on my shard now, and they are all totally maxed teams. RJT teams, other CLS teams, zTalzin lead teams. It's all a cakewalk on offense.

I was running zDN lead before, and CLS teams destroyed me. I had to prey on the gk/zarris teams instead.
-I agree with one poster above, the counter to cls is cls.
-You don't have gk so gk/zarris is out.
-Thrawn does help, but an all empire team is a disgusting farm that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.
-Baze will kill himself when he does his AOE at the start from smokescreen
-all sith are helpless no matter what
-Rex lead works but you need gk to protect Rex. So that is out

Let's assume your shard is now CLS, R2, Chaze, Zolo since it's too new for any OP GK's to be around. Your only hope now is better speed mods and turn order.

You need a Thrawn that is very fast. 250+. Then you need r2 as close behind Thrawn as possible. We make Thrawn faster so if zHan stuns your r2, Thrawn can swap with r2 and cleanse him. Now no matter what, even on defense, your r2 will smokescreen turn 1.

Now you need Biggs to be as close behind r2 as possible. After that, you'll need wedge to be around 200 but with every crit damage and offense mod you have. He has to hit as hard as a diamond drill to the face

Last, you need old ben. The thing about old ben, is he doesn't taunt on his first turn. Some would say this is bad, but it's actually good. If he taunts turn one, CLS will just swipe him and it's over. But since he mind tricks turn one, his taunt will get up 90% of the time, and CLS will have his dispel on cooldown. You will need old ben at 200+ speed. I run my old ben at 211 speed and a zeta on his taunt.

Let's play it out. Han stuns one toon turn 1. AS LONG AS IT IS NOT THRAWN YOU HAVE A CHANCE! Thrawn will swap with r2. Never fracture first turn. I'll explain why. R2 will smoke everyone but old ben giving ben foresight. Thrawn will now fracture baze. Fracturing baze gives the opponents CLS 100% TM from his unique. He WILL ALWAYS use his swipe special on ben. But he misses due to foresight. He has now wasted his dispel.

Unfortunately, you can't stop his r2 from smoking everyone too. That's ok. You are going to smash baze's face in as fast as you can. Wiggs triple, then wedge basic if baze has defense down. He won't gain HOTs cause he is fractured.

With CLS teams, once the tank is dead, it becomes a lot easier. Next target is zHan. NEVER ATTACK A ZETA HAN IF YOU DONT HAVE STEALTH OR IF OLD BEN ISNT TAUNTING. He will destroy you by himself. The best part for you is he is super squishy. So Wiggs triple should do most of it.

Next fracture CLS. He is useless when he is in time-out. Kill him as fast as you can. Then fracture r2. Kill him. Then fracture Chirrut. Kill him last.

Wiggs, r2, Thrawn, old ben. I promise you it will work.

I hope you have Thrawn or this was a massive waste of time lol.
