It seems like 4 out of 5 arena squads on my shard use Royal Guard along with Rey and/or Leia. I can deal with Rey and Leila just fine normally but if they have RG his taunt kicks in and then they heal. I have QGJ on my squad and save his dispel just for that but if his turn meter is low when RG taunts then it resets the whole cycle. Should I be using multiple dispel toons? How do you all deal with RG/Rey/Leia squads?

The way around it is to use AOE characters, two dispellers, or a dispeller and someone who can land buff immunity.I started using Anakin as a leader and he really helps a lot against the RG teams and double tank team. I modded him to go first and no matter what I always use his basic on one of the tanks and if buff immunity lands I know that I will win. Even if it doesn't if I can get Rey, Palpatine, or whoever into the red health while RG's taunt activates I can use Anakin's AOE to get around that, or just wait for QGJ's turn in order to dispel.

Ah AoE damage. I've been running phasma lead with Daka, Leia, QGJ, RG. So the only AoE I've got is phasma's, which just isn't enough most of the time to finish off a toon when the enemy's RG taunts. All the stuns are nice as is all the assists and Leia's multi-attack. But maybe I should replace one of my toons with another AoE toon? I'm seriously considering just a whole new arena squad right now.

And yes, I'm aware I'm running the same squad I just asked How to beat. That's why I'm running that lineup because it's a PITA to defeat.

B2 is your friend. Dispel taunt using AoE or buff immunity on RG before he taunts.JKA does buff immunity with basic if it hits - before RG taunts.EP will prevent his taunt with shock i.e. his basic.Asajj dispels buffs with special. Weak character otherwise.Teebo dispels buffs with special. Get. Great for Pit raids.QGJ dispels buffs with Humbling Blow. Great utility character.There are number ways to do it. But like other posters above have noted, heavy hitting AoE characters like Lando, JKA and Wedge go a long way to damaging opposition toons despite RG taunting.

RG is not an issue. He's the last toon I kill since he hits like a soft noodle. You can use B2, Sun Fac, Plo Koon, EP, Anakin or I forgot who else on basic attack. The trick is having an assist character. With Leia is hard to achieve this but lower the toon to above 50% and then kill with assist. If done right RG taunt won't triger.

Looks like I need to start mining B2 shards. I unlocked him when he was aurodium by saving up crystals but never bothered to promote him, and I'm about 30 shards away from bringing wedge to 7*. I guess I should bump B2 up on the priority list to be next after I finish mining wedge. I don't have Plo sun fac, or Ani yet.

Wedge is your friend in this case--very strong AOE, especially when he's the leader. Try going Wedge lead, Phasma, Leia, QGJ, RG. Wait to use Wedge's AOE until RG's taunt is activated

A fast RG can demobilize B2 then DPS come in to finish him. The best bet against taunters is aoe. Wedge, JKA and Lando. I always love when I hit them hard. Meanwhile, I run RG too just to protect my low hp toons from untimely demise.

I use RG. I usually get destroyed by AOE teams, anakin/lando/etc that are allowed to do their AOE more than once destroy my squad.

In addition when I fight RG teams, his taunt is OFTEN not a problem, because you can time your attacks so that it doesnt even pop up.

Finally if it does pop up, I might use the QGJ card here, which powers up my DPS who do 10K minimum damage and usually wipe out 1 or 2 characters, allowing me to survive.

That said I really dont have a meta squad and not doing it the right way.
The way to go is the Droids or AOE team. Basically using his taunt against him, and btw that applies to any other Tank (plenty of people use Han, even Chewbacca).

I must say I cannot win against teams that deploy 2 tanks and double taunt.

In the old days we stun/block the main threat like rey and whittle her down to 50-75% health, then assist attack to finish her off. Then use qgj to detaunt rg and get offense up, so we could continue stunning and focus firing.

These days, jka ep b2 can all buff block/shock rg to prevent his taunt. And aoe will melt toons like rey and leia even if he does taunt.
