Can 7* g12 Gas beat max relic Gas?
Close to 7* with gas wondering if I would have to waste more equipment on this team or will g12 get the job done.

G13 is fine imo, the difference with g12 is huge. You should be able to beat a full relic'd 501st with a G13 501st, as long as you sacrifice 5s. Maybe a few relic levels on GAS, depending on your mods.
