Sid is easily the least valuable member of the team.
4k protection (converted to health) and 11k health. 147 speed. (He sucks and my mod situation is laughable, so he literally has just 3 mods. I wish I had spare cantina energy and credits to fix it)
Thrawn is 2 stars, one gear level, and almost 20 levels behind Sid.
As you pointed out yourself, you really need to work on your mods. First of all move those 2 mods with speed from R2D2 to your arena team. You REALLY need. As you pointed out yourself your battles are often decided early. Having the cantina energy and credits to fix it is only a matter of prioritizing. Manage your resources. f.ex. you don't need to promote and train toons, which you don't use anyway. Spend thise credits in the mod store to buy mods with speed stats. Make sure to 3* the highest tiers of both health and defense mod challenges to improve the quality of mods in mod store.
