there it is, i said it. Chaze doesn't hold best on defence and isn't part of the best team available for arena. I'm not saying chaze isn't great anymore, not common anymore, not capable of competing ...

You still running Jedi? If so that's why. Jedi take some actual effort to beat. Meanwhile I can nearly auto through the standard triple cleanse teams, and I'm getting a few defensive wins against those teams. If you face a team like that, and it's a joke... it means they have bad mods, or don't have a clue how to mod them.
If you have a properly modded team as you described, it's easy to auto Jedi teams. Don't give up hope.
I always beat them. I just have to direct my first couple of moves. They have forsight up, so DT can't increase cooldowns right out of the gate. I can auto them, but they take more time to beat than a trip cleanse team. Mullato said that team is a joke. And if he still runs Jedi, that was possibly a reason why. I'm sure Jedi do better on offense against them. It's a more time consuming victory for me when I'm on offense. I'd rather fight the triple cleanse teams.

Very possible that zaul would go pretty good vs that squad
I eat up Zaul. All of my attackers except DT have a low crit chance (less likely to set off their stealth/TM), and debuffs give me turn meter. Not to mention 3/5 on my team have a self cleanse (with Thrawn and Shoretrooper the cleanse gives me 80% turn meter after the debuff gave me 20% effectively reducing my cooldowns for free). Then Thrawn has an additional duo cleanse+protection, and Kenobi has the team cleanse. And both Thrawn and Nihilus have devastating unavoidable attacks.
I was running Tarkin lead, and it was great. But I struggled against Zaul. Thrawn lead fixed that.
