Critical hit are a disadvantage instead of an advantage

Crit are only disadvantageous if you crit with low damage. Chirrut can hit DN for 57k in one hit while countering for 12k crits on his basic. GK and R2 both do 11-12k on basic, and Boba hits people for 40k on execute when there are 3-4 buffs.
