Sith Trooper is mostly there to help with the Darth Revan mirror matches. The pre-taunt means that a faster enemy Revan will only fear your Trooper and Revan, and not the entire team.
Trooper is mostly worthless in a match vs JKR, but you shouldn't have much trouble beating them if you have most of the zetas and all g11-12 characters. Once you start the Revan fear train, they should spend most of the match just sitting around with a little purple cloud floating around their heads.
