Do I Suck At Arena?

So I just posted this in another forum I posted about Jedi.

This is my current team I use in arena. All 7* and all gear 8 except Be which is gear 9.

Biggs
Wedge
Ezra
Old Ben
R2

Can barely crack 1000. Should I be able to get higher in arena with this team?

I also have an empire team where Vader is gear 9.

Palp
Vader
Tarkin
TFP
Stormtrooper
  • Who's lead? It better be Wedge. Unless your team is really fast, you're probably better served with the Empire team.
  • Mods (but you knew I'd say that! :)) Most of your best ones are on Empire or on toons you're not using. In arena, speed is king. You can either move some mods around to make your Rebels faster, or you can optimize Empire. Since Empire is meta they'll probably get you farther. Also, would recommend you continue to farm more mods so you can make five really great sets. And if you do build that Jedi team, remember to move your mods :)
  • 1st. Need your arena teams character levels to match your current level. Second you need to beef up their gear. Third you need better mods. Speed is king
  • And do I don't have to start a 3rd thread lol

I've heard it's better to buy mods than to farm them. I'd have to farm an entire Resistance team just to get the speed mod challenge for it. Doesn't seem worth it?

First off - it's definitely NOT better to buy mods. They're prohibitively expensive, and you still have to level them Sure, you might get lucky and find a really nice mod, but it's going to cost you WAY too much at this point.

As for speed mods - people are referring to the primary (arrow) or secondary stats. Set bonuses are the very small icing on a rather large cake. You'll have a resistance team eventually anyways when you start looking at JTR, but for now just farm health mods.

Exactly, speed mods are good on certain characters with high base speed. But I was referring to having speed primary arrow and speed secondaries

It is more efficient to buy mods when you reach a certain point, but you are not there yet. You'll eventually need to farm up and beat all the mod challenges but for right now if all you access to is Health set that is fine as long as you get the right primaries from the mods on the right toons.
  • Your arena team should always be at max. level. Your current team is trailing with between 4 and 14 levels. That makes it harder for you to land and resist debuffs. Furthermore you miss out on a lot of potential ability upgrades.
  • Regarding buying mods:

Make sure that you've completed tier 3 of both the health and defense mod challenges. This will make better mods appear more frequently in mod shipments.
