Umm... He dies in one hit to at least 10 characters, and if you max out his leader ability, it gives no evasion bonus.
So... Why bother with a nerf? He gets an early turn possibly (very rarely) stunning 2 units, usually, but after that you either ignore him until last (since his damage is actually quite low at meta) or drop him in one hit. Basically, if you don't have someone that can drop him in a single hit (shame on you, with GS so readily available), you ignore him until all other threats are dead (otherwise you're just giving him extra turns in addition to counters).
