Drop gear in ig88, R trooper or wait till done with Chewie

Boba is the one that needs gear the most, not IG.
Once you get Chewy, you can move back to RT, but I'd make Chewy a priority for now.
You might also want to add 200+ speed on all BHs for the Chewy event. You have the star requirements, but with the current gear levels it seems very RNG dependent whether you complete it or not.

Oh, but to answer your question I took the path I took so I stood a chance at getting
7* C3PO
7* Chewbacca
and 7* CLS in one cycle.

Only got 6* C3PO but I am certain I can get the wookie with this team in less trues than C3PO.

I also already had Ig88 at g9 from 3 years ago and I want him as a pilot.

Its Going to be tough without dengar but should be doable. I would save gear and a single zeta for Bossk and gear for Boba for g12. The rest are fine.

I ended up having to take Bossk and Boba to g12 and put a zeta on Bossk lead... Then I did it 3rd time I tried with Boba lead at g12.

At least for me I figured the the enemy hits so hard Bossk lead isnt really going to save you but for an extra hit or so. The extra Burst from Boba is what won it for me. But you can do it with either lead. If you use Boba get everyone over 200 speed and 75% potency.
